The Butiá is a famous local fruit, and Butiazal is a path full of Butia trees and this butiazal emerged as a gift from nature after hurricane Catarina, on march 27 th 2004. That´s a pasture and eucalyptus trees area that was used for apiculture that, with many trees falling, got much more exposed to the sun , allowing seed germination of a great natural bank. Today you can see a great Butiazal with more than 5000 plants that also feed different species of local fauna.
Once the fruits can be tasted “ in natura” on harvest period, the pulp is also produced for juices and jellies that can be consompted the whole year. Yet, is offered a beautiful tour by sinalized tracks, nice shadow and for closure, some absolutely tasty snacks . There´s an ecological trail and a belvedere that allows a sightseen of the butiazal.
