THE BIGGEST BALLOONING FESTIVAL IN LATIN AMERICA !

São cinco dias de competições emocionantes, shows inesquecíveis e muita diversão! Traga todo mundo e programe-se para a 34ª edição do Festival Internacional de Balonismo de Torres. De 1º a 5 de maio de 2024.

The festival will offer sports balloons events and unusual shaped balloon presentations, that'll make the party even more fun and colorful. Without forgetting the much awaited Night Glow, where all the pilots gather around and iluminate the night up by the machines blowtorches.

SOCIOCULTURAL IMPACTS

That's an event that embodied the culture of Torres, meaning a lot to collective immagination. The event mobilizes the city and surroundings not only during the festival but the whole year.
In parallel, the festival offers exhibition fairs with regional products, dancing festivities, music, poetry, literature and other cultural expressions as a way of enhancement of art and local culture.
The events usually attract a great amount of audience that appreciate presentations of locals and national artists.
Sports events usually happen in a parallel event like Motocross, parachuting, helicopter flights, water and flying sports, mobilizing visitors and tourists from all destinations: National and International.

ECONOMIC IMPACTS

The balloon festival involves the hotel industry, gastronomy, commerce and all the local economy that still suffers with seasonality. The high season period was getting shorter every year, creating a low season with hard consequences which worsened for almost two years of pandemic.
The event is a source of income, employment and oportunities for companies and entrepeneurs that participate in an organized way, exercizing the art of welcoming that's already part of Hospitality.

CITY HALL INVESTIMENTS

By the first event's edition, all facilities were rented, including restrooms and other crucial installations. In 1999, for example, due to the rains, no ballooning events happened and the festival was harmed due to the mud that formed on the Balloon Park.
Now the Balloon Park offers comfort and safety for all visitors. The modern built structure offers 24 restrooms, a ballooning memorial, cooking space and structure for a Tourist Assistance Center. This center has a Receptive Travel Agency that won the bidding for granting for that space and attends tourists and visitors trading travel products and service packs related to Tourism.

DEGREE ACHIEVED

Torres became national and international refference, receiving the title of " CAPITAL BRASILEIRA DO BALONISMO "- Brazilian Ballooning Capital.
