The “Shelter Bar” is also a building constructed by SAPT in the 1930s to be the first association headquarters. There is still the old placard with the saying “ Torres Friends’ Shelter - 1938”. A curious detail about the building is the existence of a tunnel located between the back wall and the rocks. This is a historical building made along the foothill of the platform composing the Lighthouse Hill, facing north and with stairways permitting access to rooms and restrooms. Above the “Bar Abrigo”, there is a belvedere and an observation deck facing “Praia Grande”, surrounded by Beira Mar avenue, that connects with Pinheiro Machado Square.
